Meet Christopher Cunetto, Washington Project for the Arts’ New Membership Manager
Here at WPA, we think of our members as partners in our mission. Our commitment to artists and other creatives in the DC Metro region is intrinsic, and the organization takes great pride in its dedicated and passionate staff, interns and volunteers. This week, WPA welcomed staff member Christopher Cunetto into his new role as Membership Manager. “I’m really excited to start working with and getting to know our members.” Says Cunetto. “They are such an integral part of why WPA exists, and I am really looking forward doing what I can to proactively serve them in a really engaging and vital way.”
An artist himself, Christopher understands the challenges many people in the arts face: “In addition to my role at here WPA, I maintain an active studio practice and I’m constantly working on new projects and organizing events. I think that my perspective and experiences as an artist and in the regional art world will help me bring some new and exciting, and hopefully very helpful, resources and programming events to our members this season.”
Formerly No Artist Left Behind, WPA’s educational workshop series was rebooted this season as Professional Practices. Christopher and the team at WPA are busy planning the upcoming season of these events, and he had this to say about what to expect: “We’ve been working together to come up with some member programming that will cover information that is helpful to the success of an artist. There are a lot of basic courses and workshops out there, but I think this season of WPA member programming is going to bring information and resources to the membership in areas that are unexpected but equally as impactful on a basic level.”
“The benefits of being a WPA member are constantly growing and evolving. I’m excited to have a hand in this evolution.” Says Christopher. “Membership isn’t just the connection to exhibition opportunities, or the professional development we provide, or the perks or the exposure, it is the whole experience and offering. And we already offer so much. I want to strengthen and grow what we provide toward the success of our members.”
