The JBG Companies (“JBG”) is seeking Artists and Artisans to occupy three studio spaces at JBG’s Atlantic Plumbing Property at 8th and V Street in Washington, DC. This project is a unique opportunity to cultivate a creative center in the vibrant Shaw neighborhood. The Studio Space would be part of a broader mixed use development, which includes 23,000 square feet of retail and will soon be the new home of Washington Project for the Arts.

This Request for Proposals (RFP) launches JBG’s process to identify Artists, Artisans, and Arts Organizations (“Creatives”) who will share in the vision to use creativity and art to engage and activate the community.
JBG will deliver a finished, ready to occupy studio space, and will offer subsidized rent for the first year in exchange for hosting events, seminars, exhibitions, etc. throughout the lease term.
The Atlantic Plumbing Project is located in the Shaw neighborhood at the east end of the U Street Corridor in Northwest Washington, DC.
The Project is broken into two sites at 2030 & 2112 8th Street NW that are currently under construction. Upon completion in 2015, JBG will deliver a quality urban infill multifamily community offering 375 luxury residential units in two buildings – one 310-unit, 10-story building on Parcel A and one 65-unit, 6 story boutique building on Parcel B. The Artist Studio Spaces will be located at Parcel A as part of the 19,085 square feet of street level retail space including a six-screen Landmark Theater and Washington Project for the Arts.
