about the artist
Lauren Davies is a visual artist, curator, and gallery director based in Cleveland. Originally from California, Lauren received her BFA and MFA in sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her mixed media installations, sculpture, and printed works explore alternative historical narratives that are underscored by an odd combination of ironic humor and quirky materiality. In 2013, she relocated to Cleveland, where she is the Gallery Director at 2731 Prospect Contemporary Art. Lauren’s work has been presented in the Bay Area at The Oakland Museum, The Exploratorium, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, De Saisset Museum, The Intersection, and U.C. Davis/Nelson Gallery. Her work has also been presented in San Francisco at Gallery 16, David Cunningham Projects, and Ampersand Arts.
