Description

Skin Contention was exhibited at the Point of Contact Gallery in Syracuse, New York, from January 31 - February 20, 2013. This solo show featured a sculptural installation, accompanied by a video loop of a pre-recorded and minimally edited performance (Crochet, 23min, 55sec). The series of wall sculptures were made from wood, MDF, and a variety of found and donated blankets. In these works, the crocheted and knit fabric is transformed in ways that mimic the body in motion, and re-contextualized as clusters of geometric, biological forms which create surprising variations of interior and exterior space across a range of skin-like hues.
