STORIES IN STONE Although every one of my pieces starts with a mental image that will express the story that I want to tell, the final form depends a lot on the character of the stone I am working with. Stones are all different. Each one has its peculiar texture, skin and finish. I find that the feedback between artist and artwork can be best appreciated and enjoyed through working by hand. And last, since my sculptures must often tell a complex tale in a single image, I show them together with short humorous poems to fill in the details. Each "storiella" is developed as the work progresses.
