Full Artist's statement

Markele Cullins, is an artist, curator, poet and organizer. born and based in Baltimore, MD. He attends the University of Maryland Baltimore County working towards a BFA in Intermedia. His work focuses on Blackness, Queerness, spirituality and traditions. Cullins spoke at Baltimore Pride 2015 and Baltimore Bridging Gaps, displayed works at Haystack School of Crafts, Jordan Faye Contemporary, Eubie Blake National Jazz and Cultural Center, Oak Hill CEC, 14 Karat Cabaret. he curated shows at the Bromo Seltzer Art Tower and Eubie Blake National Jazz and Cultural Center. He has completed a year long internship with the Bromo Arts and Entertainment District, is a member of Earthseed, Oak Hill CEC, and Neighborhood Voices. In January 2016, he co-founded an online gallery titled '4c Gallery' primarily focusing on creating accessible work and showcasing the work of young people of color. Currently, Cullins is working at Career Communications Group, Inc specializing in graphic design, inbound marketing, video production, and social media optimization.
