archival pigment print

As vehicles rumble overhead, the Gwynns Falls flows toward the harbor in Carroll Park in Southwest Baltimore. The majestic columns and shaft of light reminded me of 18th-century Piranesi prints of Roman ruins. This is a photograph which was hand-colored within Photoshop, then printed. The style is inspired by Piranesi's famous 18th-century etchings of overgrown Roman ruins.
