Full Artist's statement
Anita Hagan lives in Beverly Beach, Maryland in a small cottage on the Chesapeake Bay. She has worked in the medium of linoleum block printing for over 25 years, and has developed the unique technique of printing black ink over acrylic paint. Recently, she has expanded her style to include mixed media acrylic paintings – incorporating beads, gold leaf, fabric, collage and found material. Inspired by the natural world, and the human figure, she continues to explore and push the boundaries of her art.
Ms. Hagan’s work can be found in private collections across the United States and was featured in the 2015 Winter edition of the arts magazine “Upstart”.
