"The physical impossibility of death in the mind of the privileged"is part of my “Home” series which explores the issues of migrant identity and the fleeting concept of home and safety. With “Home” I choose to explore through painting the odyssey of migrants in the Mediterranean and in the US, drawing on both my own experience as an immigrant and on what I see in the media every day. "The physical impossibility of death in the mind of the privileged" is an acrylic paintings with final embellishiments in 24 karat gold leaf. I chose the most expensive and purest type of gold leaf to attribute value to the migrants which are often portrayed as worthless or as a burden to the host country.
