I'm painting a continuing acrylic series I call "Rust Town." Each work shows a different and exaggerated facet, wryly drawn with a wink and a dry smile, of the culture of small-town rural America. Rust Town lady receives all the attentions due the high class of Rust Town. She wears her best dress and makeup for her hospital stay at the Rust Town Hospital and Veterinary Clinic. Her dog lies on her non-sterile cot as a nurse plays with it and a doctor takes notes. In the background, through the doorway, we see an ignored, sick old woman.
