ARTIST DIRECTORY SUCCESS STORIES

"During the first week in January we were visited by several Sothebys curators to discuss upcoming auctions and gather info on our artists and discuss our continued business relationship with Sothebys. We gave them each, as our compliments, a copy of the Directory. They were very pleased and commented on what a professional source it was. Sothebys curators often use publications such as this as a resource for their departments."

-Lenny Campello of Daily Campello Art News
& Catriona Fraser of The Fraser Galleries

"I am the Art Director for the Results Gallery at Results the Gym Capitol Hill - one of the largest Alternative Exhibition Spaces for artists in the Metropolitan area. I just put together one of our largest and most exciting exhibitions, A REALLY BIG SHOW, using no resource other than the WPA\Corcoran Artist Directory. Not only is the Directory a work of art itself, but an invaluable resource that provided me all the basic information to research the artists prior to personally contacting them, allowed me to visit their web sites, view their art without having to expend the time and expense of having the artists get me initial information (slides/images, etc.), or me go to schedule visits to studios (not knowing what to expect) and then the information (telephone and e-mail) to contact the artists personally. This directory is truly a godsend to Washington DC Artist community and the continued promotion of our exciting arts community - Thank you WPA\Corcoran."

-Gary Fisher

"The response to my page has been great. I have received many inquiries regarding the availability of my work for inclusion in shows, and also requesting my involvement in community programs. I currently have 7 paintings in a show on capitol hill, and am in discussions with Hotel Helix to display work there as well, all as a direct result from being seen in the directory."

-Alan Simensky

"I include the WPA\C Artist Directory in the promotional materials I take with me to shows outside the DC area. Collectors of my work like to see my paintings and interviews in publications, and the directory is an impressive compliment to my growing body of printed material. As well, i have made new contacts with area artists and galleries whom have been introduced to my work through the directory."

-Matt Sesow

"It has been worth it's weight in shows!"

-Anne Marchand

"I just wanted to relate a good experience that happened through the WPA\Corcoran Artist Directory. I got into an exhibit put together by Carmen Dumitresku of J&J International Gallery in Bethesda, MD this past July/Aug. She chose most of the artists from the directory and it was a good experience. The Senior Curator of Prints and Drawings of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Ms. Wendy Wick Reaves attended the opening."
