Now in its 29th year, the WPA Art Auction Gala has become one of the hottest tickets of the season, routinely selling out several weeks in advance. This year’s event is no exception and tickets to the seated dinner have already sold out, but a limited number of party tickets are available and you can view the art here and at the American University Museum. Featuring works by over 100 regional artists selected by 8 top curators, Cream: WPA 2010 Art Auction Exhibition will be on view at the museum from January 30 through March 6, 2010.

A not-to-miss event in conjunction with the Cream exhibition and Auction Gala will be the Curator Talk and presentation of the Alice Denney Award for Support of Contemporary Art to James F. Fitzpatrick on Thursday, February 25 at 6:30 pm in the Abramson Family Recital Hall at the Katzen Arts Center. The exhibition and curator talk are free and open to the public.
