Submission Guidlines for Projector
Projector is the bi-weekly electronic newsletter for Washington Project for the Arts. It is published on every other Thursday and not only lists all the exhibitions, calls, events and news for WPA, but also lists goings-on in the contemporary art community for the DC region, spanning from Richmond to Baltimore. We also have a feature article every issue and a “Meet the Member” feature highlighting the work of a WPA member. Projector reaches thousands of artists, collectors, gallerists, curators and art enthusiasts.
Want to be in Projector? Here are the rules…
• Submissions to Projector must be received no later than 5pm on Tuesday of the week the newsletter is being published. Late submissions will not be considered.
• Submissions to Projector for Member Announcements and Opportunities sections must be submitted via our online submission form, which can be found here.
• If you are a WPA member and wish to be included in the “Meet the Member” feature, please email Membership Director Liz Georges at lgeorges@wpadc.org. Be sure to include “Meet the Member Request” in the subject line.
• If you have an idea for a feature story, please email Membership Director Liz Georges at lgeorges@wpadc.org. Be sure to include “Projector Feature Proposal” in the subject line. Please do not call.
• Projector does not publish notices of exhibitions unless that exhibition includes at least one current WPA member as an artist, curator, or organizer. When listing group exhibitions, we will list by name only those artists, curators or organizers who are current WPA members. If you are a WPA member giving an artist talk, please submit that informtion as a separte event.
• Please make sure to include a URL for a website that includes more information about your exhibition, event or opportunity.
• Projector loves to list calls for entry, residencies and other opportunities for artists in the region. Please include eligibility requirements when submitting a listing in this category. WPA will not list opportunities that are not open to at least some of our artist members.
• Projector’s “Events” section highlights special events in the visual and performing arts. We generally do not list exhibitions in this section.
• WPA does not guarantee that all submissions will appear in its newsletter. WPA reserves the right to edit submissions.
• Sometimes we do make mistakes. (Despite being an electronic newsletter, there is a genuine human involved.) If a correction needs to be made, or there are any questions, please email Membership Director Liz Georges at lgeorges@wpadc.org.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST! We look forward to hearing from you!
